What is the environmental impact of our business?

Trees release Oxygen and absorb CO2 as they grow and as a tree finally decomposes it releases the same amount of CO2 it had previously absorbed, making them Carbon neutral – Whoop whoop! Trees are not only an essential part of nature but they actually help preserve the structure of the soil. In areas of heavy deforestation flooding is rampant. In short… WE NEED TO PLANT MORE TREES!!!

What are the health benefits of trees?

The smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree can fill the air with seasonal joy, but there are many hidden benefits too…

Many studies have been done around human health and our connection to nature and evergreen trees in particular. Coniferous trees such as pines, fir and cypress are loaded with volatile organic compounds (essential oils), which have a variety of positive healing effects upon our bodies and minds.

Japanese health experts have spent years studying Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing). The forest is a living breathing entity that communicates via phytochemicals and phytoncides (these are chemical compounds the tree produces). Studies have shown outstanding results on the effects of these chemicals and terpenes on our health and wellbeing. These chemicals the trees release increase and boost our immune systems. They do this by increasing the number of NK cells in our bodies. These natural killer cells are our own bodies way of fighting off disease and increasing our immune system. Other benefits to our health include, increase in energy, higher concentration, improved breathing and general wellbeing effect of being around something green and life giving.
