Tree care
With warmer winters trending in the UK in recent years it’s now becoming increasingly more important to exercise good tree care.
Below is our standard tree care advice but here is some additional important information everyone should follow in these changing times:

When should I buy?
This may sound a little odd but buying a tree early is best practice for improved tree health but only if you follow this methodology, and here’s why:
Most trees are harvested in November, and once a tree is cut it starts to dry out regardless of whether it’s in your house or in our farm yard. So from the moment they are cut trees really needs to be put in water as soon as possible.
The absolute best tree care possible is to (1) buy your tree early. (2) Have the retailer (hopefully us) cut 3cm off the stump. (3) Take the tree home within an hour or two and place it outdoors in a bucket full of cold water. (4) leave it there for as long as possible (hours is OK, days is much better, but weeks would be ideal) before bringing the tree inside to decorate. (5) Keep your tree fully watered for the whole season. (6) check the water level daily and remember the tree cannot drink the last 3-5cm of water in the bottom of the stand so your tree could be starved of water whilst you think it is drinking!
